Abstract

838,123. Couplings between relatively movable conducting parts. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 18, 1957 [July 21, 1956], No. 22788/57. Class 38 (1). Connection between a rotating disc 1 and a stationary disc 2, arranged coaxially side-byside therewith, is effected by an endless wire or strip 7 passing round the two discs via a pair of guide discs 4, 5 rotatable on a shaft 6 supported by an arm 8 which is itself rotatable about the common axis 9 of the discs 1, 2. As the disc 1 rotates, the arm 8 together with the discs 4, 5 is caused to rotate about the axis 9 thereby rolling the wire on to and unrolling it from the disc 2. The discs 1, 2 may be replaced by hexagonal or star-shaped members.
