Abstract

837,255. Jewellery. CORO Inc. OF RHODE ISLAND. June 16, 1958, No. 19214/58. Class 43 A combined brooch and ear-ring comprises a plate 12 having a U-shaped bracket 18 to which is pivoted independently on the same axis a clamping arm 40 and a brooch pin 22 the clamping arm having an extension 50 and end cap 52 slidable thereon to receive the point of the pin so that the clamping arm and pin may pivot together. Laterally extending arms 28 of two pins 24 pivot in spaced bracket ears on the plate 12 and bearing portion 44 on the clamping arm pivot on the arms. The pins are mounted in a jacket 32 at 34 and 36. The jacket has a lug 38 which contacts a spring 60 overlying the bracket 18. For use as an ear-ring the pin points engage in the cap 52. For use as a brooch the extension slides on the clamping arm, limited by an abutment 48 to disengage the pin points from the cap. The plate 12 is suitably ornamented.
