836,799. Concrete mixers. URBAN, H. June 11, 1956, No. 17988/56. Class 86 [Also in Group XXXIV] A drum-type concrete mixer 6, Fig. 1. rotatable in the vertical position shown. is mounted on a bracket 7 adapted to be rotated to tilt the drum by a handwheel 8, the drum being locked at any required angle of tilt by the engagement of a brake shoe 24 with a disc 23 fast on the handwheel shaft 5. The peripheral radial section of the disc 23 is preferably an outwardly pointing V, and the brake shoe 24 Fig. 2, may be pivoted to the mixer frame by a pin passing through a hole 24a to one end of it and operated by a spring-controlled rod 26 which engages a hole 24b in the other end of the shoe and is connected to a foot pedal 30 through a pivoting lever 31. The brake shoe 24, Fig. 3, preferably has a pad of frictional material 27 on one side only of the V.
