Abstract

836,508. Road rollers. A.B.G. WERKE G.m.b.H. Aug. 8, 1958 [April 26, 1958], No. 25614/58. Class 6(1). A vibratory road roller comprises at least two roller drums 9, 10 and an eccentrically weighted shaft 11 passes through the drums and is the shaft on which the drums rotate. Four bearings 12 transmit the vibration due to eccentric weights 13. Hollow journals 15 are attached to the sides 14 on the outside of the drums the journals carrying the inner races of radial and axial thrust bearings 16, the outer races being mounted on buffer plates 17 each connected by four metal mounted rubber blocks 18 to the roller frame 2. An axial bearing 20 is provided between the two drums 9, 10. The bearings 16 may be mounted on the shaft 11, in which case the bearings 20 may be omitted.
