Abstract
836,246. Containers ; lined boxes. MAUSER, R., MAUSER, A., MAUSER, P., and MAUSER, E. June 11, 1957 [Jan. 11, 1957 ; Feb. 9, 1957], No. 18360/57. Classes 66. A container, comprising an inner vessel 2 inside an outer vessel of a material different from the inner vessel, has a peripheral wall 1 and a bottom cover 13 of which the centre portion supports the inner vessel 2 and the side flanges of which are secured to the inside of the lower end of the said wall. The inner vessel 2 is of polyethylene and the outer vessel of cardboard, thin-walled steel or metal plate, and an intermediate layer of corrugated cardboard or plastics material may separate them either at the sides only or at top and bottom as well, The inner vessel 2 has filling opening 3 and spout 4. The outer vessel has a cover 6 stapled or cemented to the vessel wall, the cover 6 having a flap 8 hinged at a fold 9, and a wall flap 10 with hinge fold 12, the members 8 and 10 being secured by a lead-sealed cord 11 passing through holes 11a. A reinforcing band strengthens the junction of the bottom cover 13 and the outer vessel wall which has holes 15 for discharge of condensation. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the filling opening and spout project through the cover 6 and have a releaseable cap ; or the cover 6 may be made to fit over the end of the outer vessel 1, the cover being inverted and the fold 9 being arranged to hinge in the reverse direction to that shown in Fig. 2. In a further modification, Fig. 6 (not shown), either the bottom rim of the base cover may extend below the end of the outer vessel wall, the top cover of the vessel below receding to receive the said base cover within the wall of the outer vessel below ; or the covers may be formed in the reverse way, i.e. the bottom cover of the outer vessel above may recede and the top cover of the outer vessel below may project. Alternatively, a reinforcing band, Fig. 5 (not shown), may project from the base cover of the outer vessel above to lie partially within the top cover of the outer vessel below.
