836,033. Heat insulated floors and walls. FORRESTER-MUIR, D. F. Dec. 5, 1957 [Sept. 5, 1956], No. 27189/56. Classes 20(2), 20(4) and 87(1) A rigid sheet S, e.g. of metal or asbestos for floors and walls, is formed with protuberances a on one face which are embedded in asphalt or concrete M or the like to provide air cavities for thermal insulation. The other face is provided with smaller protuberances b to support the sheet on a base B which may be recessed to receive them. The protuberances may be domed as shown or of different sizes or shapes and the roofs of the cavities d beneath the protuberances a may be corrugated. The sheet may be secured to an external wall W, Fig. 4, and provided with a plaster facing h. In a modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), the sheets may be secured back-to-back against an external wall.
