May 20, 1958 [May 20, 1957], No. 15918/57: Classes 52(1) and 52(2) A chair or other article of furniture mounted on legs or castors 22 is provided with a cross frame member 1 in which is rotatably and slidably mounted a spindle 4' carrying a floor-engaging pad 8 which when lowered by a cam 13 turned by a hand lever 18, either engages the floor to prevent translation of the chair, or lifts the legs or castors off the floor, to allow the chair to be rotated about the pad. The pad is spring-urged to raised position.
