Abstract

835,242. Change speed gearing; toothed gearing; friction gearing. FICHTEL & SACHS A.G. March 2, 1956 [July 16, 1955], No. 6611/56. Classes 80 (1) and 80 (2). A speed increasing gear comprises an input member 9 driving through rollers 7, balls or the like, a rolling member 3 whose outer surface 5 rolls within an annular member 1, the rolling member being coupled by an eccentric linkage 4 to an output member concentric with the input member. The rollers 7 may contact the outer surface of the member 3 or they may form a roller bearing between an eccentric formed on the driving member and the rolling member. The rolling member may be toothed to engage internal teeth in the annular member. The annular member may be stepped or conical, Figs. 7, 8, to provide a change speed gear by lateral shift of the annular member.
