In a divisible rim 10 for use with tubeless tyres, the detachable tapered bead-seating ring 13 is made of rubber or the like for the whole, or at least the axially inner part, of its axial extent, to effect an air-tight seal between the tyre bead and the rim base 10. Fig. 1 shows a continuous bead-seating ring 13 wholly of rubber which is retained on the rim, together with a separate metal bead-retaining ring 14, by a split locking ring 15 engaged in a rim base groove 20, the bead-seating ring 13 having a radially inwardly directed projection 19 at its axially outer end to locate in the groove 20. In an alternative arrangement the bead-seating ring 13 comprises an axially inner rubber part bonded to an axially outer metal part which is axially slotted at spaced circumferential intervals. Fig. 3 shows a rubber bead-seating ring portion 26 of 15 degrees taper bonded to 6 metal bead-retaining ring part 25 along a bevelled or stepped surface 27. Figs. 5 and a show a further arrangement wherein the composite rubber and metal bead-seating and retaining ring 26, 25 is of split form held on the rim base 10 by an integral radially outwardly flared edge 29 thereof, the edges of the gap in the metal bead-retaining ring portion 25 being faced with rubber 32 and held in abutting contact by a draw-bolt 31. Where the rubber bead-seating portion 26 is also gapped, the edges thereof are extended to overlap each other.
