A simulated vehicle mounted on movable supports which, in the preferred embodiments consists of aircraft flight training apparatus, comprises a rotatable base 1 mounted on castors 8, which are enclosed by a depending fairing 13, and a central rotatable column 2 which is coupled by belt or chain drive 3 to a reversible motor 5. The frame 1 carries brackets 14 provided with pairs of rollers 9, 10 which support a pair of rockers 11 connected by frame members 16. These support further pairs of rollers 19, 20 to carry another pair of rockers 21 disposed in planes at right angles to the planes of rockers 11 and connected by a frame 24 which supports a dummy cockpit 15. Reversible motors 29 and 51 respectively coupled by chain and sprocket drives 26 and 65 to the rocker assemblies 11 and 21, apply pitching and rolling movements to the cockpit 15. Course changing movements are applied to the whole assembly by the motor 5. Blocks 42 and 72 are mounted on rockers 11 and 21 respectively to co-operate with stops shown at 43 on base 1 but not shown on frame 16 to limit the rocking movements of the cockpit. These stops incorporate limit switches for controlling the motors 29 and 51 and all three motors are connected electrically to the output circuits of flight computers which indicate changes in roll, pitch or course.
