Abstract
833,895. Toy helicopters and parachutes. KRAUTKRAMER, A. Oct. 4, 1957 [March 5, 1957], No. 31200/57. Class 132(3) [Also in Group XXXIII] A toy helicopter, which can be shot into the air by a rubber band 12 or by a spring pistol, carries a parachute 10 and a weight within its body 1 and has rotor blades 4 and 5 held in a folded position during ascent of the toy and released when the toy reaches its highest point. As shown, the blades 4 and 5 are pivotally attached to the body at 2 and 3, tensioned by a rubber band 11, Fig. 2, and held in the folded position, Fig. 1, by weights 6 and 7 on levers 8 and 9. At the apex of the toy's trajectory the weighted levers change their positions and release the blades which then snap open, a hook 13 on the blade 5 ejecting the parachute and weight from within the body. The body, which maybe a frame or hollow tube; has a rubber buffer 14.
