Abstract

Tin surfaces, e.g. tin-plate, are coated with the di-(2-ethyl-hexoate) ester of triethylene glycol or of tetraethylene glycol or a mixture thereof, as an oxidation inhibitor and lubricant. They may be applied by electrostatic spraying or by dipping in a water emulsion of the compound.
