Abstract

832,658. Two-part couplings. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Feb. 17, 1958 [March 8, 1957], No. 5125/58. Class 38 (1). A range of fittings designed to enable subassemblies of automatic pilots, computers, &c. to be plugged into the correct sockets in the main assembly consists of pairs of members A, B so provided with co-operating teeth and spaces that each member A will accept or mate with only one member of the B range. The members A, B may have cast, crimped, or embossed notches or recesses instead of the spaces shown and may be made wholly or partly of non-metallic material. They may be secured over plugs and sockets in the sub-assemblies and the main assembly by the screws which hold the plugs and sockets in place or may be otherwise associated with the plugs and sockets so that electrical connection can only be made when the part A attached to the sub-assembly mates with its associated part B attached in relation to the appropriate socket in the main assembly.
