Abstract
831,869. Tractor power-lift mechanisms. REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT. Aug. 8, 1956 [Aug. 9, 1955], No. 24310/56. Class 79(1) Apparatus for controlling and lifting a tool 6 coupled to a tractor 3, comprises one or more jacks 12 connected between one or more attachment bars 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, mounted on the tractor by pins or ball joints 2, and gusset plates 7, 7<SP>1</SP> forming part of the tool frame, so that when the jack(s) are contracted the gusset plates 7, 7<SP>1</SP> first rotate about a pin 10, connecting the plates 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, against the resistance of the tool 6, the bar(s) 1, 1<SP>1</SP> descend into contact with stops 11, the gusset plates and tool frame then rotate until a central arm 9 of the frame engages a roller 5 on the tractor, further contraction causing the arm 9 to slide upwards on the roller 5 to raise the bar(s) 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, not shown. The reverse procedure lowers the tool to the operative position, Fig. 2, the working depth being adjusted by varying the lengths of the jack(s) by operating a control distributer or a hydraulic cock; the jack(s) may be controlled through a servo device. One jack may be used with one or two bars and the roller replaced by a slide or other suitable device.
