Abstract

831,769. Continuous tunnel kilns. RIEDHAMMER G.m.b.H., L. Feb. 3, 1958 [July 17, 1957], No. 3492/58. Class 51 (2). In an electrically-heated tunnel kiln for the treatment of ceramics or glassware in which air flows in counter-current to the wave, separate banks of resistances 2 are controlled by pyrometers 3a, 3b and a further pyrometer 3d in the first half of the cooling zone immediately beyond the heating zone is used to regulate the quantity of counter-current air supplied. If the temperature rises above a fixed normal, the quantity of air is increased and vice versa.
