831,460. Gas burners. MARCOVITCH, I., and MARCOVITCH, J. Oct. 14, 1957 [Oct. 12, 1956], No. 31949/57. Class 75(1) A portable cooker includes a gas reservoir having legs 17 and formed in two halves 22, 23 joined together in a plane parallel to a surface supporting the cooker, and a valve connecting the reservoir and a burner 14 and having a casing 5 located centrally in the reservoir transverse to the joint line of the two halves 22, 23 and providing, at the point where it penetrates the upper half 23, a threaded socket 13 for the burner 14 and, at the point where it penetrates the lower half 22, an aperture through which the spindle 6 of the valve protrudes for connection to a handle 7. A spring 16 urges the threads of the spindle 6 into engagement with the threads of the valve casing. To refill the reservoir the burner is removed and a gas pipe-line extending from a bottle of liquefied gas is coupled to the socket 13 and the valve 6 is opened. An overflow valve 19 at the bottom of a vent pipe 20 is also opened and the appearance of vapour at the overflow valve indicates that the reservoir is sufficiently full.
