Abstract
Glass sheets, which have been strengthened by etching with hydrofluoric acid aqueous solution continuously moved with respect to the glass and treatment continued until at least 30 micron thickness has been etched away, are protected by a coating of a varnish based on natural or synthetic resins (e.g. epoxy resin) or by a silicone which may be applied as an aqueous solution or dispersion either in a bath or as a spray.
