829,119. Making and wrapping cotton-wool pads. HYTAKOS A.G. June 21, 1956 [June 23, 1955], No. 19304/56. Class 94(1). In apparatus for making and wrapping cotton-wool sanitary pads, cotton-wool fleece 5 is supplied to rotary apparatus A, as described in Specification 809,471 which winds it into rolls and equips each roll with a return thread, the rolls are transferred in succession to chambers 7 mounted on an endless chain 8 which carries them through a heating duct B of known type, and the heated rolls are compressed in rotary apparatus C, as described in Specification 799,283, and then transferred to a rotary induction drum D which tests each roll for iron content and rejects unsatisfactory rolls. Rolls which pass the test are then transferred in succession to pockets 19 of a wrapping wheel E, each roll carrying with it a wrapper 16 and tearing thread 18, and the wrappers are folded around the rolls in known manner.
