Abstract
A body of zirconium or alloy containing a major proportion of zirconium is protected by coating it with magnesium. In the preferred method, the body is first dipped into molten zinc chloride, silver chloride, cuprous chloride, tin chloride or aluminium and then dipped into a bath of molten magnesium. The magnesium bath may be protected by a flux consisting of:- .potassium chloride.23% .magnesium chloride.72% .barium chloride.2.5% .calcium fluoride.2.5%
