The switch has a contact rocker with an intermediate bearing, and an operating lever pivoted on an axis parallel to said bearing and having a presser member for actuating the rocker which co-operates with one or more fixed contacts each connected to an associated terminal by connectors lying in slots in the top of the switch base. In Figs. 1, 2 and 3, the rocker 3 is pivoted at 5 on a support connected to a terminal 4, and co-operates with change-over contacts 8, 9. The operating lever 12 is pivoted at 15 on bearing parts 14, on a bridge 11, which parts 14 extend into recesses 13 in the base 1, which also has slots receiving the connectors from contacts 5, 8, 9 to terminals 4, 8<SP>1</SP> , 91. Two rockers may be arranged side-by-side on a common support for operation by a common or separate lever (Fig. 4, not shown). The lever may have a spring-urged presser member 16 co-operating with a hump on the rocker to give a snap-action, or may be double-ended and co-operate with a central recess in the rocker to give a central "off" position (Fig. 7, not shown). The lever may be operated by a chain through mechanism which allows the switch to be operated to its various positions by successive pulls of the chain (Fig. 8, not shown). The fixed contact may be at one end only of the rocker. The lever may have an auxiliary presser pin 16a, Fig. 10, for operating an auxiliary rocker 3a, the lever being swung bodily about a point 35 to operate said rocker 3a, the lever returning automatically when released. The rocker may be forked at each end to co-operate with two pairs of fixed contacts and may be mounted on a support which is curved transversely to allow the contacts to align themselves properly (Figs. 11, 12, not shown). Other forms of change-over switch are described (Figs. 13- 20, not shown).
