824,692. Ribbon for shoulder straps. RIBBON MANUFACTORY Ltd. BREITENBACH. Feb. 7,1957 [Feb. 21, 1956], No. 4242/57. Class 142(4) [Also in Group VII] A ribbon for shoulder straps has a face warp b of stretch yarn interwoven with the ground at intervals whereby it forms loops on the surface of the ribbon. The stretch yarn is controlled by the front heald fame, which is kept raised while the ground fabric is being woven, thereby keeping the stretch yarn taut, but allowing it to slacken when it is lowered for interweaving. The ground warp and weft may be nylon 66; the stretch yarn may be nylon 6 11, or 66, or polyester, or a vinyl polymer.
