Abstract

824,439. Making stator cores; jointing. GARVENSWERKE MASCHINEN-PUMPENUND WAAGENFABRIK W. GARVENS. July 9, 1957 [July 18, 1956], No. 21666/57. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). [Also in Group XXXV] In a dynamo-electric machine, particularly a submersible motor, having a laminated stator core 1 whose circular ring-form laminations are bonded together with synthetic resin disposed between the laminar layers and which core has on its cylindrical outer surface grooves 2 extening transversely to the laminations, the grooves accommodate rails 3 bonded to the core with synthetic resin 10 to reinforce the interlamination bonding. As shown in Fig. 1, the rails 3 are radially outwardly open channel sections of bent sheet metal, are of dovetail shape complementary to the groove shape, and may accommodate countersunk straps 7 which in the modification of Fig. 6 extend axially beyond the core and are screw-threaded at 8 to clamp clamping plates 9 to the core. In another modification the rails are plain metal strip filling rectangular shaped grooves.
