823,997. Making cycle pedals. LOO, H. VAN DE, and DREISER, O., [trading as UNION SILS, VAN DE LOO & CO.]. Dec. 30, 1955 [Jan. 22, 1955], No. 37358/55. Class 83 (2). A method of making a cycle pedal having a sleeve bearing 3 provided with two webs 1 and 2 on which are mounted two supporting brackets 5 and 6 for rubber blocks 7 is characterized in that the webs are each made from a sheet metal blank provided with a slot said slot being enlarged or widened to receive the sleeve bearing. The supporting brackets are detachably mounted on the rear web 2 by means of a key 8. The webs are manufactured from a metal blank 9 provided with a slot 10 (Fig. 3), and the longitudinal edges of the blank are flanged and the slot enlarged with a pointed mandrel to produce a web as shown in Fig. 4. In a modification (Figs. 5 and 8) the two supporting brackets 11 and 12 are formed integral with the front web 13 to form a pedal as shown in Fig. 5.
