Abstract
823,991. Healds. STEEL HEDDLE MANUFACTURING CO. Nov. 14, 1956, No. 34839/56. Class 142(2) Heddle rods 12 are located with respect to the top and bottom rails 10 of the heddle frame by bolts 14 riveted or welded to the rods (spacing bars 17 being interposed) the bolts entering blind holes 27 in the rails and screwing into sleeves 19 bearing shoulders 20 which are positioned between plates 23, 24: and the holes 27, those holes housing the sleeves and plates, and holes 28 in the plates through which securing wodo screws 25 pass are all elongate in the direction of the length of the rails. Each sleeve 19 bears a knurled sleeve 26 by which it may be rotated to adjust the rods for parallelism. The arrangement obviates the need for accurate positioning of the holes in the rails, facilitates location of parts lengthwise of the frame and permits of compensation for the effect of changes in temperatures and humidity.
