Abstract

820,287. Terminal boards. BROOKHIRST SWITCHGEAR Ltd. Aug. 8, 1957 [Sept. 28, 1956], No. 29680/56. Class 38 (1). An electric terminal board comprises a tubular insulating member having a wall presenting flat inner and outer surfaces, the wall being provided with a longitudinal slot in which terminals are slidably located before clamping. Fig. 1 shows tube 10, which may be of insulating material or suitably provided with insulation, having a slot 11 and mounting apertures 12. The terminal is based on a bolt 13, the head of which is trapped inside the tube 10 while the shank carries nuts 18, 19 and a rectangular washer 14 having lugs 15 to hold the bolt head by the flats and lugs 16 to embrace the tube 10. The tube 10 may be made up of two channel-like members. Fig. 4 shows another embodiment in which connections are made to shaped flat plates 20 which are spaced in position by insulating distance pieces 22. In a further embodiment, Fig. 5, the terminal 23 is fastened by the bolt 25 and the nut 26 and serves to hold in place the insulating block 27 which has a necked portion to engage the slot in the tube 10 and carries a terminal 24. The terminals 23 and 24 alternate along the tube. Two terminal strips may be used as a fuse board.
