Abstract

819,972. Gangways for vehicles. MAGNESIUM ELEKTRON Ltd. Nov. 12, 1957 [Nov. 20, 1956], No. 35456/56. Class 113. [Also in Group XXX] A ramp which enables fork and pallet trucks to travel from a loading platform 34 to the tail board 35 of a lorry, is shaped as shown to prevent the loaded forks 45 from fouling the ramp over a large range of tail board heights. The ramp is constructed as an integral casting of magnesium base alloy which includes strengthening webs 28, 30 and legs 19, 20. In a modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the ramp is constructed from a pair of side castings welded to a rolled plate track portion. The Specification specifies optimum dimension for the ramp.
