Abstract

842,388. Floors for goods vehicles. T. I. ALUMINIUM Ltd. July 3, 1957 [July 9, 1956], No. 21152/56. Class 108(1). A load carrying platform of a goods motor vehicle comprises a pair of longitudinals 3 connected to side members 4 of the chassis, a plurality of interengaging tongued and grooved transverse metal floor members 5 supported on the longitudinals 3, laterally extending cantilever plates 11 secured within narrow channels in the underside of each floor member 5 and to webs 8 of the members and angle strips 13 secured to the longitudinals 3, and E sectioned side raves 14 connected to the cantilevers 11 by brackets 16 and to the feet 9 and the upper surfaces of the floor members 5. In a modification each strip 13 may be of T section, in which case the head of the T is secured to the member 3 and the stem slotted to receive the inner edge of the cantilever 11.
