Abstract

819,836. Lighting units. QUETIN, E. May 27, 1957 [June 21, 1956], No. 16782/57. Class 75(4) A lighting apparatus for dental surgeries comprises an orientatable dome having a centre lamp 18 supplied by low tension current, for producing shadowless lighting for intra-buccal illumination, and provided with a focusing device coaxial with the dome, and an annular luminescent lamp 22 for general illumination, surrounding the lamp 18, the supply transformer 34 for the central lamp, the starter 36 and inductance of the luminescent lamp and a fuse holder 40 to take fuses of various voltages being arranged in the space between the annular and central lamps, the control switches and focusing control being grouped on the dome adjacent the operating handle 17 of the apparatus. The centre lamp is surrounded by an annular lens 20 co-operating with an annular reflector 21 and is focused by a rack 27 engaging a pinion 28 connected by a shaft 29 having two cardan joints 30, 31 to an operating handle 33. The dome is mounted by a fork 11 on an adjustable arm carried by a pillar its position being controlled by the operating handle 17.
