819,591. Yarn packages. BUDDECKE, H. Aug. 23, 1956 [Aug. 29, 1955], No. 25745/56. Class 120(3) [Also in Group XVII] In a yarn pack consisting of a spirally wound yarn strip of yarn 1, the strip consisting of coiled windings disposed in overlapping scale-like relation, the yarn strip roll is held together by embracing means 2 only at a part of its length, so that the non-embraced part of the yarn strip is free and can be spread out like a rosette as shown, and frictional resistance on draw-- ing out the thread is thereby diminished. Means 2 may consist of a single strip asshown, or of two spaced strips. Preferably the pack is placed in a protective plastic cover, and it may be interleaved with strip material. Internal tensioning means may be employed to hold the pack firm when most of the yarn has been withdrawn. The separating strip may be of net-like plastic to permit liquid treatment of the yarn. Adjacent coils of the separating strip maybe glued together at intervals.
