Abstract
818,281. Heat transfer liquids. NEDERLANDSE CENTRALE ORGANISATIE VOOR TOEGEPAST-NATUURWETENSCHAPPELIJK ONDERZOEK. Oct. 7, 1955 [Oct. 9, 1954], No. 28681/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 64(2) A heat transfer liquid to be used by heating in the nucleate boiling stage consists of (a) from 40 per cent to 98 per cent by weight of water and from 2 per cent to 60 per cent by weight of ethanol, or (b) from 52 per cent to 99 per cent by weight of water and from 1 per cent to 48 per cent by weight of 1-propanol, or (c) from 91 per cent to 99 per cent by weight of water and from 1 per. cent to 9 per cent by weight of 1-butanol, or (d) from 74 per cent to 99 per cent by weight of water and from 1 per cent to 26 per cent by weight of t-butanol, or (e) from 79 per cent to 99.5 per-cent by weight of water and from 0.5 per cent to 21 per cent by weight of 1-pentanol, or (f) from 80 per cent to 99 per cent by weight of water and from 1 per cent to 20 per cent by weight of methyl ethyl ketone. Graphs are given showing that each of the mixtures of the invention has a maximum heat transfer per unit area of surface which is at least 1.3 times as high as that of water.
