Abstract

A soap composition comprises (a) a germicidal substance and (b) zinc carbonate and/or phosphate, the amount of (b) being generally more than (a). The germicides specified are 2 : 21 - dihydroxy - 3 : 5 : 6 : 31 : 51 : 61 - hexachlordiphenylmethane; 2 : 21 - dihydroxy - 3 : 5 : 31 : 51 - tetrachlordiphenyl sulphide; the sodium salt of the 2 : 4-dichloranilide of salicylic acid; the zinc salt of dimethyldithiocarbamic acid; and tetramethylthiuram disulphide. The zinc carbonate may be commercial basic zinc carbonate.ALSO:A soap composition comprises (a) a germicidal substance and (b) zinc carbonate and/or phosphate, the amount of (b) being generally more than (a). The germicides specified are 2 : 21-dihydroxy - 3 : 5 : 6 : 31 : 51 : 61 - hexachlordiphenylmethane; 2 : 21 - dihydroxy - 3 : 5 : 31 : 51 - tetrachlordiphenyl sulphide; the sodium salt of the 2 : 4-dichloranilide of salicylic acid; the zinc salt of dimethyldithiocarbamic acid; and tetramethylthiuram disulphide. The zinc carbonate may be commercial basic zinc carbonate.
