Abstract
816,646. Diamond tools. ENGINEERING DIAMONDS Ltd., and ALLEN, R. Oct. 11, 1957, No. 31804/57. Class 124. A diamond or like cutting element for use in a dressing tool is formed in the shape of a pyramid the base of which has a major axis longer than a minor axis normal thereto. As shown, the base of a diamond cutting element may be a parallelogram having a major axis twice as long as a minor axis, and, in the plane containing the minor axis and the apex, may be shaped to the required profile. Instead of diamond, the element may be made of sapphire, tungsten carbide, or silicon carbide.
