816,378. Exercising devices; toys. BRIMMER, A. G. May 16, 1957 [May 17, 1956], No. 15378/56. Class 132(1) and 132(2) An exercising device comprises, for engagement by the individual fingers and toes, a plurality of connectors to each of which, is coupled a lever carrying a movable weight, the connectors being connected also to one or more movable mechanisms, e.g. a puppet. As shown, the device consists of a frame 1 which may fit across a bed and whose lower front wall has a series 'of holes 2 through which cords are passed, each cord having a ring on its front end. The other ends of these cords are each connected to one arm 5 of one of a series of ten three-armed levers pivoted on a common spindle 6. Each lever has a second arm 7 along which a weight 8 can be slid and secured. The third arm 9 of each lever is connected by a cord or link 10 to one arm of one of a series of two-arm levers 11 mounted on a common spindle 12. These levers extend forwardly over a stage area 13 in which is disposed a puppet 14 consisting of ten pivoted parts, each of which is connected iby a cord 15 to one of the levers 11. The arm 7 is preferably calibrated in "lbs. weight" so that the pull to be exerted can be preset.
