Abstract

Class 100(1) A web turning bar comprises at least two portions 1, 2 which are eccentrically disposed with respect to a common axis a and have shoulders 4, 5 between such portions which effect and maintain, lateral separation of two webs W, W<1> passing around the turning bar. As shown, the portions 1, 2 of equal external diameter are in the form of eccentrically bored sleeves fitted on a common spindle 3 in an end to end relation. The portions may thus be relatively offset transversely equal amounts, such that their surfaces adjacent a common card a are substantially flush, thereby ensuring that the web portions W, W<1> leave the bar in the same common plane. The portions 1, 2 are rotated on the spindle 3 to provide the appropriate degree of offset and then permanently or adjustably fixed in position. The spindle 3 may be adjusted longitudinally and/or transversely to achieve the required alignment of the web. In a modification, the portions are solid cylindrical portions formed integrally or spigoted together the axes of the portions being eccentrically disposed with respect to one another.
