Class 52(5) A support for a portable fire extinguisher vessel comprises vessel-supporting means movable between supporting and non-supporting positions, biasing means to move the supporting means to the non- supporting position when the vessel is removed, and locking means operated by movement of the vessel-supporting means to retain the vessel-supporting means in non-supporting position. As shown, a fire extinguisher vessel 11 is supported by an arm 15 and by a tray 6 pivotally mounted at 5 on a wall-bracket 1 and retained in horizontal position by a stop 27. The tray is-spring-urged and on removal of the vessel folds to the position shown in Fig. 2, a lug 33 displacing a pin 28 to disengage a hook 24 on a latch bar 21 from a notch 25 in a disc part 19 of the arm 15. The arm 15 is pivoted at 17 on the bracket 1 and is loaded by a spring 20 to move to the position shown in Fig. 2 in which it is locked by engagement of a spring-urged locking member 47 in an aperture 35 to prevent unauthorised replacement of the empty vessel which is hung from the hook 48. A cam 53 on the disc operates a switch to light a signal lamp 50 and set off an electric bell 56. A key is provided for release of the locking member. In modifications the vessel is supported on a tray droping by gravity or rotating or sliding on a horizontal axis or by a pivoted hook engaging a loop near the top of the vessel, a forked member clamping the vessel near its base to prevent swinging.
