Abstract
814,629. Loom shuttle guards. LINEN INDUSTRY RESEARCH ASSOCIATION. Nov. 13, 1957 [Nov. 17, 1956], No. 35211/56. Class 142(2) A shuttle guard comprises a sheet A of transparent synthetic plastic material, which may be cellulose acetate - butyrate, fixed to a metal bar B mounted in bearings D on the slay cap 3. One or more springs G retain the guard in its operative and inoperative positions. The spring force can be altered by adjusting the position of a crank F on the bar B and securing the crank in its new position by a screw J. A lug on a collar on the bar B determines the operative position of the guard. The guard is vertical when in its operative position and is pushed against the underside of the slay cap when in its inoperative position (Fig. 3).
