Abstract

<PICT:0814269/III/1> Liquid fuels, such as gasoline or fuel oil, are treated shortly prior to use with a repulsive magnetic field produced between two like magnetic poles and an electrostatic field in order to increase the combustion efficiency. This may be achieved in the apparatus illustrated which contains three magnets in the form of discs 12 having central holes with the poles at the faces of the discs arranged with like poles adjacent. The electrostatic field is produced by two electrodes 8 supplied with an alternating current. The inner surface of the apparatus may be amalgamated.
