Abstract

814,203. Combined sound and picture apparatus. VISUAL COMMUNICATIONS Ltd. April 16, 1957 [April 26, 1956], No. 12882/56. Class 40 (2). An attachment for a tape recorder for controlling a film strip projector in accordance with sound on the tape, is provided with a vertically adjustable platform 3 carrying tape guides 14, 16 and erase and record playback heads 12, 13, whereby control signals recorded on a track parallel to the sound record track are utilized to operate the frame change means in the film strip projector. The attachment may be strapped to the side of a conventional tape recorder and a bight of the tape passed over the guides 14, 16, which are adjustable with respect to the heads 12, 13 according to whether the control signals are to be recorded on the upper or lower track of the tape. Electronic details are given, with reference to Fig.. 4 (not shown) of the amplifier and oscillator required to record and reproduce the control signals and the means by which the signals energize a relay to operate the film strip projector.
