Abstract

The apparatus of the parent Specification, in which the administration of anaesthetic gas to a patient is controlled by an analysis of the exhaled air for its CO2 content, is modified to test for the oxygen content. In another modification, tests are made to determine the proportions of anaesthetic gas and carbon dioxide, either in each exhalation or the test for each gas is made independently on alternate exhalations.
