Abstract

814,128. Exercising apparatus. ALEXANDER, L. F. Oct. 10, 1956 [Oct. 11, 1955], No. 28912/55. Class 132(1) [Also in Group XXXI] Pedal-operated apparatus comprises a crank on which the crank pedal axis can be located at different angles to the plane of rotation of the crank so that the ankle of the leg operating the pedal is caused to roll as the crank is turned. A pedal 6, Fig. 1, has a spindle 5 which fits into a screw-threaded socket 3 slidable on crank 1. Socket 3 has a threaded aperture 7 (Fig. 2, not shown) through which a screw may be screwed into any of two sets of perpendicular holes 2, 2<SP>1</SP> in crank 1 to hold the socket in position relatively to the crank with the pedal in its normal position or at an angle thereto. In a modification, Fig. 3, a pedal 13 is secured to a part 12 of the crank which is adjustably tele'scoped within a second part 11 of the crank. Specification 767,613 is referred to.
