813,877. Headlamp beam dipping devices SOC. POUR LA FABRICATION DES PROJECTEURS ELECTRIQUES MARCHAL. March 8, 1957 [Oct. 18, 1956], No. 7719/57. Addition to 773,698. Classes 75(2) and 75(4) In the vehicle head lamp claimed in the parent Specification having a bulb 5 with a shielded filament as a dipping filament suitably related to the focus of a reflector 2 and being relatively adjustable about the optical axis of the lamp by means of multiple notches 6, 7 in either of the two members, viz. the bulb holder 4 or the collar 3 of the reflector 2, co-operating with fixing means such as a lug 9 on the other of the two members, bolt means 13, Figs. 3 and 6, are arranged to prohibit the introduction of the lug 9 into the unwanted notch or notches. As shown, the bolt 13 has a bent back portion 13b to form a catch adapted to enter the notches 6, 7, and folded back lateral wings 13a to form a guide for slipping over a tongue 11, 12, Fig. 3, on a bridge-piece 10 mounted on the collar 3 so that the tongues are located opposite the notches 6, 7 and the catch 13b obstructs the entrance to the opposite notch to prevent entrance by the lug 9 on the lamp holder. The bolt has a tag 15 for manipulation purposes and a retaining strap 16 connecting it to the bridge 10 to prevent its being lost.
