Abstract
813,465. Mounting terminals. ERG INDUSTRIAL CORPORATION Ltd., and ALEXANDER, J. A. Sept. 19, 1957 [Sept. 20, 1956], No. 28825/56. Class 38 (1). An electrical component comprises a length of wire bent at two points into the shape shown in Fig. 1, and a former the end face of which has a socket in which the loop of the wire is a frictional fit, the radial portion of the wire being housed in a groove. The component, which may be a wire-wound or carbon resistor or a capacitor, is constituted by a cylindrical former 17 having a socket at each end and a terminal wire fitted to each socket. The sockets may be provided by a blind bore at each end or by a hole 18 right through the former. The sockets are of oval shape to accommodate the bent portion of the wire 14 which may be further secured in place by an adhesive. A slot 21 is provided at each end of the former for the radial portion of the wire 16 and the component may be given a protective coating.
