813,309. Grooving apparatus. RUFF, H. Nov. 20, 1957 [April 26, 1957], No. 36085/57. Class 31 (2). Apparatus with an adjustably and replaceably mounted electrically-heated U- or V-shaped cutter for cutting grooves, especially in worn vehicle tyres is characterized in that the cutter is clampable by means of its arms against contact jaws insulated electrically from one another, the arms of the cutter being mounted edgewise in clamping means which are guided for adjustment and securing in the contact jaws. As shown, the arms 1<SP>1</SP> of a cutter 1 are clamped against the end faces of contact jaws 2, 3 which are insulated from one another by an insert 4, by means of screws 11 passing through metal blocks 9 and counter-pieces 10, the counterpieces being slidable in recesses 8 in the contact jaws. The blocks 9 are provided with one or more grooves 12 to receive the arms 1<SP>1</SP> in different positions. The contact jaws are provided with contact elements 5 constructed as plugs for removable attachment to a handle 6.
