Abstract

812,997. Handle-bar control mechanism for motor cycles. PIAGGIO & . S. p. A. Oct. 26, 1956 [Dec. 6, 1955], No. 32768/56. Classes 136(1) and 136(3) , A headlight 2 is accommodated in a central part 1 of the motor cycle handle-bar. The indicating and recording instruments are housed in the upper wall of the central part 1. Two lateral extensions of the part 1 are directed towards the hand grips and house tubular guide members 5, 6. The member 6 projects beyond the central part 1 whilst the member 5 is completely enclosed by the part 1. Tubes 7, 8 carying handgrips 9, 10 are rotatably mounted in the guides 5, 6 respectively. Control actuating rocking levers 11, 12 are carried by the tubes 7. 8. A support 13 for the hand lever 15 is fixedly mounted on the tube 7 to be rotatable therewith whilst a support 14 for a handle-bar 6. The transmissions for the rockers 11, 12 and th levers 15, 16 consist of flexible cables which are contained in the central part 1 of the handle-bar and pass outwards through a slot b in the lower part of the handle-bars. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 764,043.
