In a flanged roller for a rail conveyer, the guide flange b is detachable from the body a of the roller and forms also a closure cover for the bearing housing c within the roller. As shown, the roller comprises a tread sleeve a clamped between the flanged-forming closure b at one end and a cap d at the other, by means of bolts e passing through holes f through the wall of sleeve a. The flange b is centred within the body of the roller and may be of higher grade material than the body a.
