Abstract

812,330. Endless conveyers. FISHER & LUDLOW Ltd. May 7, 1957 [Feb. 15, 1956], No. 4683/56. Class 78 (1). In a conveyer system having an article supporting member in the form of a shaft 10 mounted on an endless conveying element for rotation about an axis transverse to the direction of movement of the conveying element, the member 10 is rotated through an angle exceeding 90 degrees by the provision on an end of the member 10 of a pair of cranks 13, 15 which are joined together at one of their ends such that they extend at an angle of 60 degrees to one another, and rollers 14, 16 mounted respectively at the junction between the cranks and on the free end of the outer crank which engage stationary guide tracks 19, 20 arranged to follow the paths shown in Fig. 4. Each guide track is formed by a pair of vertically spaced rails 21, one pair of rails being displaced axially of the shaft 10 relative to the other and the rollers 14, 16 being correspondingly axially displaced relative to each other. Portions 19b, 20b of the tracks 19, 20 effect a 180 degree rotation of the shaft 10 which passes through positions 10a-10g whilst the rollers 14, 16 pass through positions 14a-14g and 16a to 16g respectively. Portions 19c, 20c maintain the moulds in inverted position, and these are followed by track portions which are a mirror image of the portions 19b, 20b to return the moulds to upright position by effecting reverse rotation of the shaft 10. Specification 812,329 is referred to.
