Abstract

The affinity of linear aromatic polyester fibres for dispersed acetate dyestuffs is increased by a pretreatment at 80-100 DEG C. with a condensation product of cyclohexanone, or one of its alkyl nuclear substituted derivatives, with mono- or di-ethanolamine. Specified condensation products which may be applied in the liquid form, or as a solution in water, or in an organic solvent having a boiling point above 80 DEG C., such as ethylene dichloride, are N-cyclohexylidene- (or N - methycyclohexylidene - hydroxyethylamine) (or -di-hydroxyethylamine). Examples are given.
