Abstract
811,984. Fixed capacitors. HUNT (CAPACITORS) Ltd., A. H. Aug. 2, 1956 [Aug. 8, 1955 (2)], Nos. 22783/55 and 22843/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 37. A method of heat treatment of a polyethylene terephthalate dielectric capacitor wherein the capacitor is first dried at about 50‹ C. for 15 hours and then heated to about 200‹ C. for 1¢ hours, possibly in a vacuum or a non-oxidizing atmosphere. The steps may be combined and the capacitor temperature raised slowly to about 200‹ C. The capacitor may have a rolled up, metallized, dielectric film roughened at the ends of the roll. The heat treatment improves the electrical characteristics, the adherence of the electrode connections, and the anchoring of the terminal leads.
