Abstract

A package for the preparation of a Chinese style dish is made by placing in a can a mixture of raw, unseasoned vegetables such as celery, bean sprouts, water chestnuts, mushrooms, onions, bamboo shoots and peppers, sealing the can, and sterilizing without destroying the flavours of the vegetables or their crispness, placing in a separate can a cooked sauce, e.g. a chicken broth or meat stew, seasoned sufficiently for both the sauce and the vegetables when the two are eventually mixed, sealing and sterilizing the can of sauce, and then connecting the cans together in a single package.
