Abstract

810,276. Toothed gearing. RENNERFELT, S. B. July 8, 1957 [July 7, 1956], No. 21575/57. Class 80 (1). The drive from the shaft 2<SP>1</SP> of a motor 1 to a shaft 7 is effected through planet gears 3, 6 on a carrier 5 meshing with external and internal gears 2, 8 on the driving and driven shafts respectively, the carrier 5 being normally held between friction discs 13<SP>1</SP>, 13<SP>11</SP> under the action of springs 10. On apredetermined torque being exceeded the carrier 5 is adapted to slip. Alternatively the carrier could be held by a breaking pin which is broke on excessive torque. The carrier 5 is mounted by its exterior surface for rotation in the gear housing 9 and the shafts 2<SP>1</SP>and 7 are supported independently of the carrier. A pointer 17a geared to the internal gear 8 indicates the rotary position of shaft 7.
